Our Story
Run by Cardiff born resident Hamid Kowsor, we aim to create high quality fish and chip meals with a twist of “posh” thrown in. Options such as lobster and our inhouse homemade fishcakes have allowed us to become a firm gourmet favorite.
We opened our first branch in that Llandaff area of Cardiff back in April 2013 after looking to create a fish and chip eatery using fresh ingredients and sustainably sourced fish. After many years of careful planning and searching we came across the perfect location for our vision. A lease was swiftly signed in January 2013 and The Posh Fish And Chip Company was born!
We became firm favorites with our customers and the accolades soon followed. We are very proud to being awarded Top 50 & 60 Best Fish And Chip Shop two years in a row and being mentioned in Wales Online Best 21 Fish And Chip Shop multiple times. Whilst we have long term ambitions to being the best fish and chip shop in UK, we have taken a break from the national fish and chip awards to concentrate on our expansion.
We have a simple policy for the food that we serve to our customers - we want to serve quality meals using the freshest of ingredients. We do not add any MSG, salt or bulking agents to our batter mix. We have longstanding relationship with our suppliers to source the best quality fish and potatoes.
